And here it is!

So. The rumours have been around for quite a while - just like the cover-up's. The promises for about as long. Whereas the wait's been on for even longer. We've been given hints and granted small tastes of what's to come. We've seen them live, we've had them on tour, in concert, and the collaboration's only become bigger and better and more successful over the past years. They've done a few live recordings, lots of charity shows, made a musical, supported Mandela, visited Tromsø; in other words, an intent, intensive, incredibly energetic attempt at working their way back to the top. As if they'd ever descended therefrom - although, I do suppose, they needed to build up the proper all-over popularity again. Yes, I can see that. And now they are indeed prepared to take over the world - once more - well, even further, they're about to conquer all the galaxies. Rocking the cosmos, more rightly. As it were. And all the while, facing a fanbase that has only lain dormant, enthusiastically awaiting their return, always at the ready to be overwhelmed with new impressions of greatness. Which are now present and revealed. Launched at their fandom, this very week, like a rocket on its most blazing, steady course. My favourite band, in the while wide world, and many others' too; obviously. Arguably the greatest rockers of all time. At least the greatest rock'n'roll entertainers. And now it's time for their reign to be reimposed and for the common admiration to soar; for the public eye to be directed specifically at this one and very much deservering target. For, ladies and gentleman, QUEEN IS BACK. Not only officially, but offering some real material as well while they're at it. Exploding onto the rock'n'roll scene, yet again, without the participation Freddie and John, but with Paul Rodgers still (and most elaborately) in tow. They've got lots to give, but also lots to prove. Directed towards an audience that has, no doubt, changed severely since their former hey-day. In the eighties. Now aiming at the 21st century; modern, more developed, more technical, more harsh; and its masses, these brutally demanding masses, including numerous critics whose expertise consist of being equally merciless and breaking down any idea of fale grandeur as soon as they possibly can. The good thing, however, which serves as a comfort to all us Queen-fanatics, is that these guys know the business; they know how to survive in it and how to deliver. They know what to provide, what to give the audiences, and in what manner they're supposed to do so, because they've succeeded at it multiple times before. Still, they know the opposite-related facts, too, and the radically different situation of being at the losers' end. They're familiar with releasing radiant, highly influential, critically acclaimed works like "A night at the Opera" and "Innuendo", just as well as the downright flop-albums ("Hot Space", "Flash Gordon"). It's all been done, and seen, and felt - yet this can, in no sense, easen the worries they must struggle with, before the imminent release of their new studio album and upcoming tour, Rock the Cosmos. The nerveracking risk of critical, all-fatal failure. But that, for the moment, is something I'll leave be. I will not pass any judgment, as of yet, since I have little to pass judgment on; just some small pieces of what looks indisputably, beyond belief promising. Hence, making me overjoyed. Consequently, I won't allow myself any negativity, scepticism, or being pessimistic, considering how I would - thereby - cheapen the excitement and happiness of being able to actually look forward to a proper Queen comeback; something that truly doesn't happen every day. Nor am I going to post any in-depth comments or critical speculations here. I'll just give a brief presentation of what we've got, at the moment, as to calm my own expectations, not to mention the tormenting anxiety, and introduce you to all that there is to behold - nothing more, and certainly nothing less - which has brought upon me this terrible excitement and increasing nervousness but also, I have to stress, immense and unparallelled joy. So, here it is:

Album Information:

The full title of the new Queen composition is "The Cosmos Rocks", and it's due to be released on Septemper 15, 2008, marking their first collection of new songs since 1995's "Made in Heaven", and their first-ever studio album together with Paul Rodgers. The three guys have been co-writing all the melodies and lyrics, and all of them will do the singing - as opposed to only Paul singing, when they were on tour last year - and in addition, they will each take turns playing the various instruments, for instance bass guitar, instead of replacing original member John Deacon (the bass man) with someone new. After the release of the album, the group will embark on another massive, extensive touring session, all across Europe and the U.S.; and, what else, they will - of course - be promoting their album as much as they can, whenever they have the opprtunity, and trough as many channels as could be humanly possible. In other words, Queen will again be the talk of Tinseltown; The Band of the Hour; hopefully on the basis of an album that propels them back to old heights and gives them a proper boost in the rightest direction of everlasting talent and vision combined. They have already broadcast a smashing, new hit called "C-lebrity", with lots of heavy drums and outerworldly great guitar extravaganza (signed Brian May, the one and only), and with some rather thought-provoking lines. Very good, very huge, very Queen. The CD as such will consist of 13 songs and the rumoured track list is as follows:

"Time To Shine"
"Still Burnin'"
"Surf's Up/Schools Out"
"We Believe"
"C-lebrity" (single, out Septemer 8)
"Say It's Not True"
"Call Me"
"Cosmos Rockin'"
"Small"
"Warboys"
"Some Things That Glitter"
"Voodoo"
"Through The Night"
"Small Reprisal"

Never seemed the phrase "I can hardly wait" more apt. Never did I mean it more sincerely. I am intensely looking forward to hearing the album in its entirety, and promise to get back to it - then - with a more complete and thorough set of opinions, not mention reviews. Until then, I rest my case, and enjoy being a old scgool Queen fanatic with something to await. In anxious fangirl frenzy. Weee.
